GEOSCIENCE COLLECTIONS
The following documents have been created to assist users in accessing resources available at the CNSOPB's - Geoscience Research Centre (GRC). The GRC contains physical files (Well and G & G) as well as physical samples.
All non-confidential physical files can be viewed either onsite or remotely via the Data Management Centre (DMC).
The physical samples can be viewed on site at the facility.

Conventional Cores by Well Name
This document provides an alphabetical listing of all conventional core stored and maintained at the facility. It includes the Well Name,
Core #, Interval, Recovery & Amount of boxes in storage. Core photos, if available, can be accessed individually by well online via the DMC.
Conventional Core is available for viewing and sampling.
Sidewall Core
This document provides an alphabetical listing of all sidewall core available at the facility. It includes the Well Name, Top Depth,
Bottom Depth and the Amount of vials in storage. Sidewall core is available for viewing only.
Micropaleontology Slides
This document provides an alphabetical listing of all micropaleontology slides available at the facility. It includes the Well Name, Intervals, Source and the Name
of the Company that produced them. Micropaleontology slides are available for viewing only.
Nannofossil Slides
This document provides an alphabetical listing of all nannofossil slides available at the facility. It includes the Well Name, Intervals, Source and the
Name of the Company that produced them. Nannofossil slides are available for loan or viewing.
Palynology Slides
This document provides an alphabetical listing of all palynology slides available at the facility. It includes the Well Name, Intervals,
Source and the Name of the Company that produced them. Palynology slides are available for loan or viewing.
Thin Sections
This document provides an alphabetical listing of all thin sections available at the facility. It includes the Well Name, Interval, Amount
of thin sections, Source and the Name of the Company that prepared them. Thin section slides are available for loan or viewing.
Unwashed Cuttings - Jan. 2019
This document provides an alphabetical listing of all unwashed cuttings available at the facility. It includes the Well Name, Interval, and the Amount of bags in storage.
Unwashed cuttings are available for viewing and sampling.
Washed Cuttings - Jan. 2019
This document provides an alphabetical listing of all washed cuttings available at the facility. It includes the Well Name, Interval, and
the Amount of vials in storage. Washed cuttings are available for viewing only.
GRC Fluids
This documents lists all petroleum fluid samples (oils & condensates) obtained from well tests archived and preserved by the CNSOPB. It includes the Test interval (if available), Source, Type and Amount in storage.
SAMPLING WELL MATERIALS
Sampling of Well Materials (Core, Unwashed Cuttings, and Fluids) may be approved providing there is adequate sample to preclude significant depletion. A Geological Sampling Program Approval Application must be completed for review.

This publication contains released Geological and Geophysical Reports available from the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board for the Nova Scotia offshore area. Data on significant discoveries and the ownership of interests is also included.

BASIN contains a wealth of geological, geophysical and engineering information related to many years of petroleum exploration, primarily offshore northern and eastern Canada.
- Directory of Wells - Plays & Basins - Jan 2021
This is an expanded version of the original Directory and includes information on the geological region where the well is located, TD formation, the approximate age at TD, and play type tested by the well.
